A chiropractic adjustment is designed to help individuals with back pain find pain relief. The adjustment mostly focuses on treating low back pain. Through a series of quick movements, your chiropractor will try to realign your spine. This realignment helps to ensure that pressure is equally dispersed throughout your entire body. While the purpose of any adjustment is to alleviate pain, it can create pain of its own. The pain occurs because your body is being moved into positions that it is not yet familiar with. For example, stretching muscles that you have not used in months will create a similar feeling of pain. Fortunately, this pain can be eased using herbal teas.

Licorice Root Tea

Licorice root is considered to be a natural form of pain relief. The herb is often consumed in tea form to treat things like migraines and menstrual cramps. The same tea can be used to help reduce pain after your chiropractic adjustment. In order to create licorice root tea, add a handful of the fresh herb to a pot of warm water. Allow the pot to simmer on low heat for a few hours. Remove the pot from the stove and remove the licorice root. Wait for the tea to cool, and drink it. The licorice tea should be consumed after every meal in order to notice a reduction in pain.

Lavender Tea

Lavender is commonly used as a calming herb alongside chamomile. Lavender is considered to be a natural relaxant that helps to soothe things like joint pain, toothaches, and stress. Lavender tea can be used to treat any pain you may be feeling after a chiropractic adjustment. In order to create the tea, start by placing a spoonful of dried lavender in a medium sized cup. Fill the cup up with hot water and allow the herb to steep for a few hours. Once the water is no longer clear, strain the lavender from the mixture. Add a few drops of lemon juice to the tea for taste. You can reheat the lavender tea or drink it at room temperature. Since lavender is considered to be a natural relaxant, it is best to consume the tea at the end of the day.

Getting a chiropractic adjustment can be beneficial for the overall health of your body. However, the soreness and pain that follows may cause discomfort. Use these herbal teas to help reduce this pain and discomfort.
